Baby Monitor - WiFi & Bluetooth w/Background Audio App Reviews

This app is a waste of money! Our phones do not connect! Waited a couple of times for about 10 minutes... Save your money. I should have read the reviews first!!

Works pretty well fir the money. I can hear my daughter breathing, which helps me relax. Unfortunately, it cuts out every time my phone alarm goes off, which is frustrating. I have to go back in babys room and spend time fiddling with it to get it to work again, which often requires restarting one of the devices. I wish it would just automatically reconnect (or just stop disconnecting...)

Dont waste your time. Not even worth free.

We have tried this on various devices and wifi networks with poor results. It only connected and transmitted audio once before it disconnected soon after.

Simply this app does not work! Awaful.

This app works clearly & crisply just like it says it does. If you have a poor wi-fi connection, sometimes it will disconnect you but thats only happened twice to me. I use it every time we go to my mother-in-laws. You can hear even the slightest wimper from hundreds of feet away. Best of all, with an iPhone 4, you can use it in the background while using other applications (such as facebook, or weather etc.)... Worth $1.99 especially if you go out alot!

This app constantly disconnects and when the iPad is in Nanny mode, it goes to sleep.

I did a test run with my iTouch 3G in Baby Mode and my iPhone 4 in Nanny Mode and it worked great. I had to connect my iPhone headphones w/ mic to my iTouch in order to pick up audio though. The one thing that would make this app great is if it had a visual sound level feature, similar to Apples Voice Memo app. But the live audio over wi-fi is what made me choose this app over other baby monitoring apps. Most others only rely on the iPhone calling another number when noise is detected. For one, I only have one iPhone, and secondly, Id rather hear my baby in realtime.

Cannot get app to work at all. Very disappointed in this app! :(

For those who are saying the app doesnt work, reboot both iPhones after installation. The problem I had was the phones were connected, but no audio was being transmmitted. Rebooting fixed this - it works great now. Id like the app to have a visual sound meter in a future version. And, perhaps a squelch knob to adjust the audio sensitivity to ignore softer background noises.

They have just removed the ability to run in the background while on the phone/Skype or listening to audiobooks, so it goes from having been my favorite app to having two stars. An iPhone that you cant use for anything else while the app is running makes it the most expensive monitor - and the most useless iPhone - on the market.] Ive researched the subject of wifi baby monitors exhaustively, and have plunked down money on quite a few apps. This one couldnt be simpler to use, and it integrates seamlessly, of course, into the iPhone that I already have on me all the time. The audio quality is AMAZING, even when a fan, humidifier or air conditioner is running. I havent run into the problems that other users seem to have, and although I use it nightly, Id say it disconnects maybe once every two or three weeks. About half that time itll reconnect by itself; the rest, I just have to reconnect on my end without having to go into my daughters room. HOWEVER, it drains the battery like you wouldnt believe. Start with a full charge if you plan to be away from a power source for more than about four hours. (I have a year-old 3GS; the iPhone 4 will undoubtedly differ.) I was able to use this app because I hung onto my iPod Touch after I got my iPhone. But it would be great if there were also a desktop version so that I could talk on the phone while using the monitor - and that way, people with only one iOS device can buy it too.

Better for the touch then phone because you lose the connection when you get a call. Also takes a while to Connect. Good for a backup but not a good primary.

I wrote before that this app would be perfect if it didnt crash so much. I often had to restart the app several times in a three hour period. With the latest updates that support multi-tasking and iOS 4.2 this app is perfect. I have run it for almost a week to be sure it was fixed and it is! I have not had a single crash in the new version compared to multiple crashes a day before. Additionally, the ability to multitask while running the app makes this better to use than ever. Now I can leave the monitor running and still work on other apps. Great job! Worth the money for sure. Update again: the new version is the best yet. I love the text status telling me which iOS device Im connected to. Also used to have to force quit the app sometimes to get the initial connection set up, but now it works every time.

I have tried this app with every combination of my two iPads, iPhone 3GS, and two iPhone 4s. Nothing works. Since there is no manual and the developer does not have a functioning web site, the is no way to tell whats wrong. I cant believe in 2011 the developer cant even be bothered to build a web site and post troubleshooting tips. Set up seems simple enough and the iOS devices "find" each other and connect, but there is no audio. Going to try and get my money back, but looks like I just wasted my time and money on the POS app.

Remarkably simple, works via wifi or bluetooth, frequent updates. Love it.

App is really simple and easy to use as a baby monitor. Works over wifi, needs two iPhones to work and probably wont use as my primary monitor but the app is perfectly priced. Awesome buy.

No web site=no help. Wasted money. Dont buy!!!

Works better than others Ive tried, especially in terms of maintaining a connection. Sometimes has a bit of trouble initiating the connection, but works well after that.

This app will not replace a conventional monitor but it is a decent short-term replacement. Syncing my iPad with my iPhone can be a bit of a pain at times, and the sound is a bit choppy, but I can clearly hear my baby and other sounds as well. Make sure you stay connected to your wifi or else you will have to sync the two devices again.

I have an old 3G iphone and wanted to use it as an audio baby monitor at home on our WIFI network. I have the app running with the screen off on the 3G (so no light issues) and on my iphone 4 i can listen in and even be listening while using other apps. Sound quality/volume is great in my opinion. Not sure how long I can run the 3G on battery power before it runs out, but I can always plug it in to an outlet.
